In Design and Management or Design and Construct contracts R B Plant are involved in the selection and management of a wide range of sub-contractors and suppliers.

The selection route is a fundamental and key aspect of our Quality Assurance procedure.

The candidates are selected from our Approved Supplier’s List and previous experience is included at the client’s request especially where on site knowledge or experience offers a competitive edge.

Beyond this stage the bid analysis function plays a key role in the final selection. The final selection is made on the basis of conformance to specification, programme and commercial and contractual conditions. Once we are close to placing the final order on large values a factory visit or a meeting at R B House is proposed where final discussions take place.

R B Plant’s knowledge and experience obtained within the contracting industry allows us to be efficient in either Design and Manage or Design and Construction contracts whichever yields the most economical option to the client.

Once the selection is made then tight controls are set in place to monitor, control and co-ordinate programme, cost and specification requirements in terms of manufacture, delivery and on site performance.

In certain cases fixed penalties may be applied as part of the agreement where delivery is critical.
