More Case Studies
R B Plant
have successfully completed the design, installation and
commissioning of a bulk storage and acid transfer facility
for Tate & Lyle Sugars.
R
B Plant have also undertaken a Design & Construct project involving the
replacement of existing plate and frame filter presses
with three new membrane press filters.
R B Plant's project value
was £2.7 million.
The project has involved
the following:
- P & ID
- Pipework sizing
- Layout & Pipework
routing drawings
- Equipment schedules
- Sizing and selection
of inverter driven slurry pumps, acid pumps, agitators,
steam equipment, mild steel and GRP tanks, air
compressors
- Chairing of HAZOP
meetings
- Preparation of Control
& Operating philosophy
- MCC & Panel design
- Pneumatic design
- Cable routing
- I/O Schedule
- Instrumentation
schedules
- Lighting layouts
The Filter Presses are
provided with their own individual PLC’s from which the
signals are integrated with the ORSI system which controls
the overall plant operation.
A hard wired panel is
used for distinct fault signalling.
A separate distinct weak
acid wash system which does not form part of the filter
cycle has its own PLC control system involving hot water,
cold water and acid mixing.
The design also features
a new compressor station for which air is used for both
drying and for the press compression operation.
High pressure hot water
cloth wash pumps are provided for washing of the cloth and
lower pressure for cake washing.
New switchroom facility
with MCC cubicles, lighting and small power panels.
New hardwired panel for
interlocking and alarm signalling.
The project was completed
within cost and programme.
